R.J. Howard Computing was founded as a sole proprietorship in 1997 in San Diego, California for the purpose of providing affordable, competent web design, hardware, software and network support to the small business and non-profit communities.
In 1998 we returned to the Palm Springs, California area and joined the Desert Business Association (DBA) in order to better identify and serve small businesses. We also assumed responsibility for the DBA’s web site and membership database.
In 2000, we narrowed our focus to web and database design, as we felt that these were the most under served and misunderstood specialties in our local community.
In 2002, we:
- Added Flash animation to our list of service offerings
- Launched our web hosting service
- Launched our pharmacy site, Medicineville.com
- Added MCP, MCSE, and MCSA certifications
- Added Teradata certifications
In 2003, we:
- Added Adobe Acrobat (PDF) publishing capability
- Added wireless network installation capabilities
- Added Swish capability for rapid Flash deployment
In 2004, we:
- Added phpBB (bulletin board) support
- Added BosDirectory (link database) support
- Added MySQL support
In 2005, we:
- Added Gallery (photo management) support
- Added BosClassifieds (classified ad) support
In 2006, we:
- Added Google Ad Words support
- Added WordPress (blog and web development) support
In 2007, we:
- Added Miva pay-per-click support
- Added RSS/Atom support via Carp and Grouper
In 2008, we:
- Added Gallery Scraper support
- Added support for Gallery2, a high-end photo album
- Added 7Search pay-per-click support
- Added phpBay support (eBay listings in Wordpress)
In 2009, we:
- Added support for Artisteer
- Added custom Wordpress theme development service
